best 5 star hotel location?

Going to vegas in Feb wth my wife and looking for a 5 star hotel that has a good location. We like to casino hop and never seem to gamble in the same places. Stayed at Paris last time, not bad, loved location but would like something nicer.

thanks

Mandarin Oriental is a 5 star hotel in City Center, but it is just a hotel without a casino. Skylofts are on top of MGM Grand and also 5 star. Four Seasons is on top of Mandalay Bay, but is on the South end of the Strip.

The other 5 star hotel on the Strip are the Wynn Tower Suites. This would be on the north end of the Strip.

Bellagio surely has the best location for a 5 star property?

Bellagio and Caesars are considered the center of the Strip, as are Bills and Ballys, but neither are considered a 5 star hotel by most.

As per Forbes Travel...http://www.forbestravelguide.com/star-awards-2011.htm

The Five Star hotels are...

Skylofts at MGM Grand

Tower Suites at Encore Las Vegas

Tower Suites at Wynn Las Vegas

The Four Star hotels are...

Bellagio, Las Vegas

Encore Las Vegas

Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas

Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas

The M Resort Spa & Casino

The Palazzo

The Signature at MGM Grand

The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino

Wynn Las Vegas

Chris...Ktinca gave you the location of the 5 star properties but if location is important and you, you may have to drop your star rating to be center Strip. :)

Darmom, thanks for the list.

Is anyone else surprised that they consider MGM Sig and Mandarin Oriental to be on the same level?

I am, Dave. And I love the Sig. But I certainly wouldn't put it in the same category with MO or FS.

The Mandarin Oriental is definitely your best choice. Most likely the nicest hotel on the strip at the current time. And it has an excellent location, mid strip in City Center. After that, I would consider Cosmopolitan and Bellagio in that order...both are perfectly located as well in center strip.

After those 3 options, you start moving away from center strip for luxory options...i.e. Wynn, Encore, Venetian, Caesars Palace, etc...are all getting toward north end of strip...with MGM Sig towards south end.
