Slots - downtown or the strip?

Question for slot players. Do you prefer playing downtown or the strip? I've always heard downtown has better payouts since the strip hotels have larger overhead. What's your experience? Just trying to figure out if we want to head downtown for an evening.

I believe most people should at least visit Fremont street (if not stay there for a night or two) when in Vegas - others may disagree.

Generally, slots will have a higher average payback percentage off strip and downtown than the strip will have. Table games also generally have better rules and lower bet mins than the strip.

Wife and I had good luck at Cosmo on slots trying to "lose $100" for their promo - again, the key word is LUCK.

I agree with 16, Fremont St. Is worth a visit even for only an evening. You may or may not enjoy the atmosphere. I love downtown and have had much better luck there than the strip (which I don't very often) and off strip (which I visit often)

Visit downtown for the experience, not for the possibility of the infinitesimally small .04% better odds. Go for the same reason you go to Las Vegas, to have a good time. Plus, there's no zipline on the Strip.

I think I just have better luck downtown, I usually do better there, but not always. I spend most of my time downtown too, I have my favs at many casinos that I have been lucky on and usually go back to them in hopes of a repeat win.

Depends on what slots you play when you are on the strip. We won at

Paris, Cosmo, Aria, and some at Bellagio's. Pick carefully!

It's a proven fact that the fancier the casino the lower the payback.. but you'd have to play a couple million dollars through it to notice...

I like downtown for a night, but it's just to slow down a bit from the hustle bustle of the strip... Can't say I've won more or less either place..

I used to think so, too. I am a low, low roller, and most of my $100+ slot wins have been at Bellagio, Wynn, and Mandalay Bay. I attribute it to luck when you're not spending a lot of money on slots.
