Bill's Gamblin vs Imperial vs Harrah's

I am hoping to get recommendations on hotel in Las Vegas Strip.

We are visiting Vegas for the first time, are looking at Bill's Gamblin Hall for the 1 week stay during this spring. Rates are reasonable, but then saw a better deal at Imperial, similar rates at Harrah's. I know that Bill's has no in-room safe but don't know about the other two. Kind of like to have a in-room safe, but don't want to trade hotel quality for cheap deals. Thanks in advance for all advice. Cheers!

None of these are 5 star locations at all. However, if you are not expecting that you should be fine.

The room I had at Bills was very large. I don't know if they are all like that or if it was because it was at end of hall, but it was spacious (more space than necessary). It is nothing fancy - pretty basic - but was clean & bed was comfortable. Bathroom is somewhat small but I liked kicking open the tiny shower window for fresh air. Most people like a strip view for a chance at fountain view. I liked the backside no view as it was quiet. Quickest access back to strip.

Harrah's rooms are fairly small & do have different levels of amenities. Rooms can overlook Carnaval Court which can be noisy.

IP would be the lowest level, although they have a couple different levels of rooms (the worst - Capri - are gone). My aunt stayed there & was satisfied. It was not fancy at all but was clean & comfortable. People either love the IP or hate it. Not much in between.

They are all so close together that food amenities, etc, are easily walkable. You can room charge to all CET hotel/food locations from Harrahs or IP, but Bills is kind of still by itself.

None of those mentioned are big on creature comforts. All will suffice for a decent stay if you're looking for a clean room and savings as long as you're not expecting the Taj Mahal.

You might like the common areas and casino at Harrah's better. The location and ease of ingress/egress cannot be beat at Bill's. IP has Hash House A Go Go.

My sentimental favorite is Bill's. Decent, quiet, larger rooms with nice flatscreens, the specials at the Victorian Room, lively bar area, easy in and out, and a short crawl back from the Stage Door.

Just remember, you're considering the most budget-oriented properties on the Strip.

My opinion of those options is this- Bills- best location, nice rooms, great casino only steps away. You can use Flamingo's pool. Harrahs for more complete property but pool blows and rooms are tiny. But if you are going with a spouse, a female, Bills might be a little dark and lacking. I'd rather sleep in my car than in IP.

Just wondering..... hoping it's not too silly to ask..but never been to Vegas but had enjoyed visting other place in the west coast ...these budget properties are still safe to stay in, yes? I read many reveiws on these hotels, they seemed reasonably secure to stay...

Bill's is far better than the others. Check–in and check–out will be quick since Bill's has only 200 rooms.

Yes, Lil bee2...they're all safe properties. I've never felt unsafe on the strip or in any property at all. Of course, you must keep your guard up if alone but that would be like anywhere else. Have a fantastic first trip!

People put Harrah's down but I went to Vegas for the first time in dec and we stayed there in the bottom level room. Very pleasantly happy with Harrah's. Our room would be comparable to a holiday inn express. Harrah's location is great. If you want a quieter room ask for Mardi gras tower. Their brunch buffet was great too. Starbucks on site too. Good overall value for price. I would stay there again. It is not fancy like some of the others but location is awesome and price is good and rooms are reasonable and very clean.

Bill's ties with Bally's and Flamingo for 'best location on the strip'. I think (as a hotel) that's about all its got going for it... maybe the shared pool with Flamingo.

I don't care for Harrahs at all, it would be way down my list.

IP is a simple place. It doesn't have the opulence and flair that most people associate with Vegas. That said it's just as nice as many "typical" hotels I've stayed at in other cities. When you consider the location and the price, it really has a lot going for it.

Coin flip between Bill's and IP.

Bills and Harrahs are perfectly nice and a great deal. I would recommend Bills if you are looking to party a bit more as the casino is a blast but its definitly a property that you end up walking to other properties more as the casino is small. Harrahs is more of a complete property, there is a starbucks, food options and a the crowd is a little older and well behaved than bills. both are great budget options. bills location is better in my opinion but i think we prefer harrahs. its close enough that i would go with what is cheaper. the pool at harrahs is pretty basic, so if that is a huge decider i would choose bills as you get to use the flamingo pool.

Rule out IP right away as it's a complete step down from the rest. I think Bills and Harrah's have great locations - Bill's is just more center than Harrah's. The only reason that I would steer you towards Harrah's is that Bill's is pretty much a casino on top of a hotel. Harrah's is a more full service property and has more options for shows and dining.
