Best shoes to travel with in mid November?

We're coming over to Vegas next month, in mid November, for a week.

A lot of walking is planned, of course (though we're renting a car, but still...).

I'm wondering which shoes to bring! I don't feel like coming with sneakers, I wanna look good, but afraid of having pains in my feet if I'll go with some heels.

Any tips for a fashionable women? :)

I'm all about good running/walking shoes there. Fashion means less to me than my knees and back and the shoes generally go well with the jeans I wear anyway.

Sneakers can look good and fashionable too! I'm all about comfort during the day, and wear either walking Sandles or sneakers.

To me, wearing heels is just something you'll regret, even wedge heels won't be comfortable after a while.

I lived in my flip flops last November. They had thick soles so were comfy enough for lots of walking. I got caught on my trip prior and nothing felt comfortable.

I wore sandals for our Vegas trip: however, the weather at the end of September was nice and warm. I have a pair of boots with a small heel that are my go to shoe when walking a lot or just anytime really, when the weather is cold. They are not a specialised walking boot, they are a fashion boot but they are so comfortable. I wore them for five days walking all over London and not one blister, red spot or sore foot in sight. So I say wear your most comfortable shoe whatever that may be and pack the bandaids just in case.

I like a pair of Clark's clogs or sandals. I have tendonitis in one of my Achille's tendons and the podiatrist suggested I wear something with a low heel instead of tennis shoes when possible.

"and pack the bandaids just in case."

Forget bandaids, use moleskin instead (no real moles involved). I always carry some with me and at the first sign of that warm feeling that precedes a blister, I put some on.

Ditto to the advice to bring whatever's comfortable. And if you aren't accustomed to walking long distances and/or being on your feet all day, you might want to get into "training" now because it will make a difference when you get to Vegas.

The "rule" is non negotiable ....... wear the most comfortable shoes you own! At least during the day, then if you want to try and wear heels in the evening ..... so be it.

I just checked my chrystal ball and I see a line from your future Trip Report ........ "folks tried to tell me about the long walks, but you really have no idea until you get there" ....... Haha ........

I tend to take 4 items of footwear with me at whatever time of year we go:

Worn in trainers that are made for rambling rather than fashion - Merrells or Salomons are good at this type of shoe.

Flip flops if weather is warm (Crocs do a great range of walking flip flops - quite dainty, fashionable and have soles that mould to you and are extremely comfy - worn them recently in Vietnam 24/7 and never hurt). Really durable as well.

Cowboy type boots to wear in the evening

One mid size heel court shoe or wedge in case we go any place fancy to eat - worn only if we are not walking and with emergency Crocs in handbag in case walking is needed!

I NEVER pack killer heels - it is really not viable in Vegas unless you are planning on clubbing in your own hotel with no intention of walking anywhere. So many times you see girls wearing sky scrapers waddling around the strip to hit the clubs and clearly they are trying their best to look the part but everyone knows they are really cursing themselves!

Comfy all the way!

There's nothing fashionable about blisters and hurting feet. With that said, I cast another vote for sneakers. Chances are you're just walking around being touristy during the day anyway, and the slot machines do not judge your footwear.

I wear sneakers during the day and then at night put heels on to go out since all I have to do is get in a cab and go straight to my destination.
