My husband and I (69/54 years old) are taking a mid-week trip to Laughlin the last week of June. I have never been...my husband hasn't been for decades. We are just looking for a few days away from Los Angeles to relax and spend time together. We are more interested in chilling out than run, run, running around. (And I know it's going to be 115 degrees...so "chilling" out is just a turn of phrase!)
We are currently booked at the AVI Resort...which I know is a bit outside of town, but it seemed rather relaxing to me. Besides, one of our favorite musicians is playing a blues show in their lounge while we are there.
We had a few questions and wanted to ask all you kind locals and regulars:
1. Is AVI a good pick? We don't mind being out of town...no need to casino hop. We'll go into town 1 day probably.
2. We want to try jet-skis...seems like fun. We have never done this before. Is it okay to rent from Watercraft Adventures right from the resort? Or should we go elsewhere. It will be HOT...but hear the river is COLD.
3.Suggestions of things to do that aren't too taxing? My hubby has bad knees and walking long distances is not ideal for him...suggestions based on this? We thought a river cruise, the auto museum, Oatman to see the burros, cocktails by the pool and floating on a raft in the river.
4. Any restaurants you would recommend...anywhere in the area?
5. We are not big gamblers but would enjoy some table play where it's not too intense since we are not that experienced. Any times/casinos better for us amateurs?
Any suggestions are welcome. We very much appreciate the help everyone!
