My husband and I went on a junket to Harrah's from Tuesday until Sat. We had room 11010 in Tower 1, the adult tower. We never heard any noise from neighbors. Our room was nice enough with an older bathroom but there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. No mold, dirt or mysterious hairs. The only slight disappointment was that the room had no safe but we did make use of the refrigerator and coffee maker.
The casino was nice with a good sized non-smoking casino which my husband gambled in quite a bit while I pretty much stayed in the smoking casino. The only area that was really smoky smelling was by the tower 1 elevators area since that is the first smoking area by the check-in desk. We had a blast gambling and came home with some of our bankroll. Of course there were dry spells but when we were winning we were winning!!! We play mostly penny slots (max bet), quarters and I even dipped my toes into the High Limit room where I got slaughtered in no time at all.
The river taxi was a lot of fun and much less expensive than taking taxis. $4 one way or $15 for an entire day. It is well worth the money and a great way to see most of the other casinos. The Riverside auto collection cost us $1 each admission and was so interesting and a nice and cool way to spend an hour or so. We did walk on the River walk to 3 of the casinos but the heat got to be too much for us. It's a very pretty walk and if it had been under 100 degrees we would have enjoyed more of it. Lol
Food. We ate the breakfast buffet all 3 mornings. It wasn't huge but there was more than enough choices that we weren't bored by our 3rd breakfast. Good bacon, delicious coffee and orange juice. We ate at a Smashburger for the first time and it was really good. Hubby had a burger meal deal and I had the grilled chicken/avocado meal deal. It was a good value at around $20. 3 nights we just had a bite to eat at the Diamond Lounge since we ate such big breakfasts and the heat took away our appetites somewhat. Soup, fresh veggies and sandwiches and pasta salad. Good enough for us. Our last night I really wanted a salad so we ate at the Beach Café. The salads are enormous! I had a Chef salad and hubby had the steak dinner. Very good and with 2 iced teas bill came to under $30.
Drink service in the casinos was almost always very good except for early morning. Drinks were good and plentiful. All areas were cleaned constantly by very friendly employees and got smiles and good luck wishes from everyone we met.
