Where to Park and walk ?

Traveling to the area next week and meeting some friends at Finger Lakes Casino. We then have half a day to ourselves, and we'd like to drive someplace near Canandagua Lake, and then just get out and walk around the lake for a few hours. Nothing extensive or hiking trails, just wandering and enjoy the views, maybe sit at a picnic bench, etc.

If we start at Finger Lakes, where is a good part of Canandagua Lake to drive to and park? Are there easy sidewalks/trails that go around the perimeter of the lake?

There are definitely places to park and walk along the lake at City Pier. Kershaw Park is also a nice spot.

There are limited public places to access the lake, as previously noted, but much of the lakefront is private property. While technically the lakeshore below the high water mark is "public access" there are no general sidewalks/trails, there are many obstructions like docks and boathouses to climb over/under, and most private landowners frown on people walking in front of their homes/cottages. Your best bets are those spots previously mentioned.

Thank you both for the replies. Walking on a pier and through a park are perfect. I understand about the private property, because it sounds similar to Lake Conesus. Looks like there are some lunch spots walking distance from the park as well, so that will be nice.
