Campgrounds on Manitoulin Island

Two older adults planning on visiting Manitoulin July 27 to August 3rd. Have a hard top camper trailer. Need electric hook up, nearby bathrooms and showers, etc.

Will have two kayaks with us as well.

Any suggestions re (1) great campgrounds that we can use as a base for day trips, etc and (2) flat water sites (rivers, lakes) for easy paddling with great scenery.

Are there some "must see and experience" type sites on the Island that you would recommend.

This is a good central location www.rvtoads.com/rvparks/idyll-glen.html As for must see, well you are going to be there during the pow-wow at Wikwemikong and that is not to be missed, especially the Grand Entry at the start of the day's events. http://www.wikwemikongheritage.org/

If you are doing up via the ferry that's great, if not then a day trip by ferry to Tobermory is fun.

Have a great time.

Don't miss the Wiki cultural festival (pow-wow) when you're there...saw it a couple of years ago and had a lot of fun!
