Drive to Johnstown to learn about an earlier American disaster, the Johnstown Flood, where more than 2000 people died in 1889 after a dam collapsed and flooded the town with a massive tidal wave. You can visit the National Park Service site at the ruins of the dam and then visit the museum in downtown Johnstown. Also take your car for a ride up Johnstown's Inclined Plane, the steepest vehicular inclined plane in the world.
