The Angel Oak is on John's Island. It's really beautiful.

There are 2 ways to get there from downtown. Take 17S to Main Road, go left, then follow the signs, or take 17S to Folly, go left to Maybank, go right and follow the signs. I tried to link to the direction map but the link won't work. Click on "Directions" on thei page and it will show you a map.

Follow Shank's directions and take your GPS if you have one. i would recomment visiting the Charleston Tea Plantation, as well, very close and it is free to tour.

Eddie is right, do a visit to the Tea Plantation, but also plan to visit the winery/distillery while you are on Wadmalaw Island, try some of the Java Rhum!!!...

On the way back to town is the perfect opportunity to stop at either Boulevard Diner or Mustard Seed for dinner (James Island)...

Fat Hen & Wild Olive (Maybank Hwy.) are on the way back too! Both provide very good food and service.

Goodness! Some days I'm just in awe of our good fortune of so many fantastic places to dine in and around Charleston.
