Making the most of stay!

staying in Bovey for three nights (two whole days) and looking to make the most of this time to explore area. We love walking and exploring. As it's our wedding anniversary we would also like somewhere nice to eat dinner and the odd afternoon tea!

Any suggestions?

Pick up some local walking guides from where you are staying or in Bovey Tourist Office. Haytor is a must I would say, and as for food, try book into the Rugglestone Inn just outside Widecombe in the Moor. Fabulous pub. Or another favourite close to Bovey: The Cleave in Lustleigh.

Have a great time.

Hi 4 of us recently had afternoon tea at Bovey Castle. Its a quite reasonable £25 per person, £35 with a glass of champagne. We were treated like royalty right from pulling up in the car. They parked it for us and escorted us in to reception. The food and ambiance was really nice.

Beware if you have a drink from the bar though.... we treated ourselves to a pre- drink, had 3 G&T's and a bottle of Czech beer and it was £51. !!
