Not any time I've used it but at least some if not all of the area that used to be the overnight car park is included in the redevelopment/extended marshalling area they are preparing for the new boats, so you maybe a Skye poster can tell us if it is still there now?

Don't park in the lanes, at all - unless you are going on the next boat, or the loading staff have directed you to.

There are a number of large pull-off spaces on the A87 approaching Uig. These are put in for truck drivers to take their rest breaks/wait before heading to the ferry. They are/were unsigned/unrestricted. So long as you took care to leave enough space for an HGV/large commercial vehicle to park, you could probably use them. Although I've never overnighted in one, I have stopped for a few hours to have a pause/nap after driving across the country on numerous occasions when heading to the ferry.
