Best location for 4 girls in Dallas TX

My 3 sisters and I will be having a girls weekend trip for 4 nights in November. We are currently booked at the Westin Galleria, but am wondering if we should stay more down town / Arts district?

We want to shop for a full day, but then also want to be able to walk around to shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

I would also like to go to the Theatre or Symphony.

We wont have a car and want to be in a safe, trendy central location.

Suggestions would be very much appreciated!

You might take a look at the Fairmont. It is close to the Arts District. Also you can catch the McKinney Avenue trolley to Uptown for shopping and restaurants or take the DART light rail to Northpark for mall shopping.

Yes Fairmont or Hotel Zaza would be a great place. Uptown is definitely the trendiest. As the reviewer above said, you'll be able to take the Trolley to restaurants and shopping in West Village. And there's tons of bars in the area for night time. Stanley Korshak is also nearby, which has great shopping.. along with Northpark mall (which is about 10 minutes away)

I'd definitely stay closer to Uptown/Downtown if you want to be in a trendier area. While Westin Galleria is indeed nice and convenient to shop.. I think ya'll will have a better time in Uptown. :)

Oh also check out Knox/Henderson. If you happen to be in town on a Wednesday.. I suggest dinner at Victor Tangos, followed by The Dram across the street for an after dinner cocktail.. then walk back across to a side street where you'll find Candleroom. It's super packed and fun on Wednesdays!

If in town over a weekend and like clubs, go to The Travis off of Knox St. I used to work there, it's classy and fun and the music is awesome. Beforehand, grab a cocktail at Smyth which is right around the corner. Make a reservation beforehand though, because it's resie only.

The shopping/dining/relaxing combination at the Galleria complex is VERY compelling, stick with that one day or 2 at least.

Preston Rd and Northwest Hwy marks the gateway to the next nearest trendy high end area to the Westin Galleria, it should be quite affordable for 3 or 4 people sharing a cab from the Galleria. Begin shopping for your very own Texas Millionaire right there. He lives within rock-throwin' distance of there.

The other recommendations are quite good too, put 'em all in the Googler & map it out for distance, convenience potential places to stop n shop n be seen.

Welcome to Texas!
