Not sure what kind of food you are looking for. Here are a few suggestions:

Bernard's Mediterriannean Restaurant http://www.bernardsintyler.com/menu.htm

Sonoma Grill http://www.sonomagrilltyler.com/

The Potpourri House http://www.potpourrihouse.com/

Coyote Sam's http://www.coyotesamsbarandgrille.com/

Jake's on the Square http://www.jakestyler.com/

Villa Montez http://www.villamontez.com/

I'm not really sure how many of the above choices will accept reservations.

Of course, there are also plenty of chain restaurants to choose from.

Hope this helps!

Hmmm...I don't know, I never order prime rib. I think I've seen it on the daily chalkboard special at the Potpourri House before. But I don't think it's on their regular menu.

I don't think you can go wrong with that list (I'm not a big fan of Coyote Sam's though). I like Bernard's and Villa Montez the most out of that group. I'm not sure if they have Prime Rib, but the steaks at Jake's are good.

Well we did Villa Montez buffet and it was just fine. Very busy but we had a great table by the window out of the line of traffic! .Also did Chedders which is very reasonable for lunch portions and Liang's one night. It was OK. Even more new restaurants out there--but all chains!

Anybody eat at any of the taqueria on the north side?

Thanks for the update.

No, I haven't eaten at the taqueria. Probably pretty good though, but I don't really know.

If you like Italian food try the new restaurant Oliveto on the Troup Hwy. We've only been once but it was great. http://olivetobistro.com/

For Tex-Mex I like Juanita's, also on Troup Hwy. It's a local chain.

Just returned from another Tyler trip. We did a small birthday dinner at Sonoma Grill. We all enjoyed our meals. We went very early and got great service. Dave
