Park City Lodging for a group - Jan 27-30

Hi,

I have a feeling you're getting a lot of similar questions lately, but hope that you can help me anyway :)

We're a group of about 8-10 people looking for lodging for 3 nights Jan 27-30 in some type of a condo, a suite, or a house. We're primarily going snowboarding during the day and to the Sundance parties (via some connections) at night. So the location needs to be convenient to both (shuttle ride is fine) and an airport transfer.

Cost is the biggest consideration, but we don't want to sacrifice the convenience too much.

What are some of the top relatively budget places I should check?

We would also consider splitting up into smaller groups of 4 or 8 if necessary. Just trying to make this as cheap as possible. Sharing queen beds for every 2 people would be great.

Thanks so much for any input!

Best place to start is VRBO.com - the best part about Park City is you can stay just about anywhere and be a FREE 3-10 minute bus ride away. It really is hard to go wrong in PC....even way down in Kimball Junction has it's own advantages.

Never hurts to check ebay either. There are great deals on there IF they have your week available. Another option is redweek.com though I've personally never used the site, many others have and like it.

As noted, VRBO.com is a good spot to check. Hotels are at a super premium during Sundance. You are the second weekend so that will help a bit. Staying out at Kimball's Junction is just a 15-20 minute free bus ride into town. You can easily get to The Canyons or Park City Mountain Resort to ride.

I second Tumbleweed's suggestion to look at Kimball Junction area. One other reason to do that is that there's no such thing as a quiet room near Main Street during Sundance. That might sound fun now, but when you're exhausted and buzzed and want to get on the slopes in the morning, a drunk in the hallway at 3:00 a.m. is not entertaining.

Under no circumstances drink and drive in or around Park City. The Park City Police Dept. has zero tolerance and are reinforced during Sundance by additional law enforcement officers from surrounding communities. By the second weekend of Sundance, they're exhausted and have no patience left. Just take the shuttle and do your partying indoors, and you'll have a GREAT time :-D

We actually ended up booking Canyons Crossing #1 property via Utah Vacation Homes, who post on VRBO, Flipkey, etc. They were willing to waive the 4-night minimum too and the price worked out well at $2k for all 3 nights for 11 people after taxes and fees. It's near the shuttle stop 2.5 miles away from Main St.

Perfect! A Goldilocks kind of place... Not too far, not too close, just right.

Glad you found a good spot.
