New to Virginia Beach

Looking forward to our visit in mid April. Trying to decide where to stay. Are there locations on the beach that are quieter than others? We are seniors, no kids looking for a relaxing vacation.

Suggest you not to come to VA Beach on what's called College Beach Weekend. No idea of the 2018 date. But It has been held the end of April in the past.

You should be okay mid April, just be aware of that event.

Sandbridge is quiet. Nice condos and homes for rent with good prices that time of year.

We love Sandbridge a very easy going area.

In regards to Spring break click on link below, most schools are showing 3rd - 10th of March 2018.

The quieter ends are the North End and the area south of the boardwalk called Sandbridge. Very non-commercial. Thousands of acres of nature for driving and walking. The boardwalk is 3 miles long, 28' wide. For walking, surry and bike riding, events and history and culture and natural views along the way. Check out one of the Top Questions in the upper right of this page....What is the boardwalk like.

Early spring is a cooler weather time to appreciate Va Beach's nature. Thousands and thousands of acres of natural area, woodland, wildlife. Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, False Cape State Park, First Landing State Park. As well as walking trails, kayaking, etc. Back Bay has a Terra Gator tour till end March and then a Tram Tour of Back Bay's wonderful wildlife acreage.

You can easily drive through First Landing, making some stops and ending at some of the sunset view or Bay front restaurants.

There are sea adventures you can look into through Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center.

How about horseback riding at the oceanfront before the warmer weather hits? That's when it's allowed for the horse's health.

There's also a big Spring Craft market at the Convention Center end of April.
