We will make a day trip to Williamsburg, Va this coming Jan 27th, 2018.
Hoping for recommendations of things to do and places open during the winter.
We do like historical and natural places.
Colonial Williamsburg, Historic Jamestowne (the NPS site), the Yorktown Battlefield (NPS site), Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown are all open in January. With only 1 day for your visit, you will have to choose which one(s) to visit. I recommend Colonial Williamsburg but you can’t see it all in just 1 day. You could, however, see both of the NPS sites in 1 day.
January 3 through 27 Colonial Williamsburg will be on its winter hiatus. The folk art museums and retail shops will normally be open, but the trade shops and exhibit buidlings will be closed.
Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown from January to mid-February will usually also have winter operations, with their outdoor exhibit/living history areas being accessible by guided tours only.Edited: 13 November 2017, 19:16
Thank you for your time! It means so much.
Do not bypass Colonial Williamsburg, you won't regret it. Also, a good place to eat is Captain George's Seaood, it's to die for. The buffet includes American fair as well and the dessert bar is off the hook. Enjoy your visit.
