what things are doing as far as music and enterainment or antques and shopping in the wheeling area.
There is always something going on at the Wheeling Island Casino, whether it is a show, a concert, of just the fun of going to a casino/ racetrack. http://www.wheelingisland.com/
Plenty of areas for shopping. Our favorite is the old market district downtown (Centre Market) which has the famous Coleman's Fish market and is surrounded by small antique shops. wheelingcvb.com/shopping-and-antiques.php…
No trip to Wheeling is complete without a trip to Oglebay Park. In the Winter, it is home to the Festival of Lights (one of the largest and oldest on the East Coast). The Park has skiing, swimming, dining, golf, a zoo, fishing, lodging, and just about anything else you can think of. http://www.oglebay-resort.com/
And if you are into history, Wheeling was home to the very first Capitol in the State of West Virginia. Independence Hall is worth a visit to find out how West Virginia became a state during the Civil War. http://www.wvculture.org/museum/WVIHmod.html
The Nailers play at Wesbanco Arena which also hosts other events like a Home & Garden Show, Professional Bull Riding, Concerts, the Circus, and shows (Larry the Cable Guy is appearing on April 12th). Check out their events calendar for when you'll be there: http://wesbancoarena.com/
Whether or not you are into hunting, fishing, or camping, you need to take a visit to the largest Cabela's store in America. www.cabelas.com/stores/store_info.jsp…
Plenty of good places to eat in Wheeling. Of course there are all of the national chain restaurants at the Highlands (where Cabela's and Wal-Mart are located). But Wheeling is noted for the Italian population and hosts the annual Italian Festival in July. If you are going to Wheeling, you've got to try one of the great, local Italian restaurants:
Bella Via: facebook.com/pages/…155477104476336
DeFelice Brothers Pizza: http://www.defelicebrospizza.com/
Di Carlo's Pizza: http://www.dicarlospizza.com/
And a great little sports bar called T.J.'s sports garden (you've GOT to try the French Blue Cheese dip for your fries). http://tjsportsgarden.com/
Have a good time in Wheeling. It can be a fun town to visit.
