Strange request... family/group/party campground

Looking to plan a trip for 10-20 people. ages 3-45, basically newer families with kids aged 3-9, and some singles in their 30's. We are not looking to blow it out completely, but we would like to find a campground that is a reasonable distance from Dings Dock or an outfitter on the Waupaca where we could put up a bunch of tents, do campfire songs, maybe hike to the camp playground, and do some beer drinking and the like. One other key is that we need a shower/bath building that we can walk to.

I thought I had it here: http://www.wolfrivertrips.com/wolfrivertrips/directionsmaps/rustic+camp.asp

but the lack of shower and flush toilets kind of killed it.

So, we are not looking for non stop party, but we also do not want some family friendly deal where we are bugging other people.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hartman Creek state park is close and a great park (underutilized, swimming beach, hiking and group areas), but no flush toilets(DNR hole in a stall). A bit away in Freemont (13 miles) is Jellystone campground which has a pool and waterslide for kids and I believe flush toilets. this is further away but appears to have more of the amenities you seek. There is a KOA campground in Waupaca near the high school but I am ignorant on the toilet issue.

This one is 2 miles from the Chain. It has a heated pool, showers, bathrooms, game room, and playground. Here is the link:

Here is another one to look at:

Here is the link for Hartman's Creek:

Here is the phone number for another place. They have a golf course on site as well as a pool. We have golfed here a couple of times (not a fancy course at all!):

Royal Oaks Golf Resort N4440 Oakland Rd 258-5103

Hope this helps!

Some of our family has permanent trailers at Kastle Kampground. I've stayed there. They have flush toilets/showers and a big bar/restaurant.

We always rent a group site or a large site far away from all of the others, and that becomes the party site.

We have campfires and sing alongs with the kids, and then they all go to bed at their sites. Then the late nighters take over and have their fun up there, away from all the other campers, both friends and family and others.

It works great, as long as the party animals clean it up the next morning!

Of course, if you have a bar on-site, that works pretty well, too. Less mosquitoes that way.

Hey Kimbob, we are not 100% married to the Waupaca area, what campgrounds have you gone to in the past that you would recommend?

Idier,

Rustic Woods campground is just south of Waupaca on cty hwy E 1/4 mi. south of Spencer Lake (and the Spencer Lake Bible camp) easy to find, great food, Friday night fish fry, fun bar, young owners, definately don't mind a party. They have all levels of camping available and clean showers and restrooms as well. They have mini golf and a small outdoor pool, game room, etc.....
