boston,cape cod then new york

Hi! My husband and I are traveling to Boston , Cape Cod and New York city in August and would like some help planning an itinerary. I was thinking of 2 nights in Boston, 4 nights on Cape Cod(same hotel base or change hotels?), then drive to New York and catch some Broadway shows for 3 nights. What do you think of this timeline. We like to walk on the beach and go for romantic dinners and scenic drives and would like to do some biking. Any suggestion? My husband is a chef and we'd appreciate some nice hotels and nice places to eat with good views.

Thanks!

Are you driving or flying? If driving to you plan to stay in 'downtown' in both Boston and NY? Hotel parking can run over $40 a day ... we can offer you some less expensive options in Boston, and I suspect New Yorkers could do the same on their forum.

If you're flying will you rent a car to see the Cape?

Hi, I think your plan sounds very reasonable. Boston is definitely a chef's town - we have some top-notch destination restaurants as well as some small fabulous places that you might not read about in national magazines. The Cape also has some great places, I am partial to Brewster - The Sea Captain's Town - filled with romantic B&Bs, good restaurants and beautiful bayside beaches where the sunsets are legendary. Here are some places to consider: romantic and good dining

Thank you very much for the info. Actually, i'm trying to figure out if we should drive or fly. We're from the Toronto area, so we could get a cheap flight from Buffalo to Boston, rent a car, drive around Cape Cod for a few days then drop off the car in New York City and fly back to Buffalo. Or....we could just drive down , have the convenience of our own car, but then yes, we would want to know where to park our car for cheap in Boston and NYC. Which sounds better?

Having a car in NYC or Boston is a disadvantage (parking, traffic, etc.). For the Cape, you'll need a car.
