Family of 5 travelling to New York Oct 6-11-suite/2 rooms?

We will be travelling to New York in early October with our children who will be 20,18 and 14. We can get 2 rooms or find a suite or apartment. We are intersested in Soho, east village, flatiron ,or midtown. I know that closer to the date i may be able to find a deal on travelzoo etc..

Any suggestions of where would be a great place to stay close to subways . We can spend up to $500 per night.

A family of 5 here too. We had two rooms at Affinia Shelburne in Midtown. Great location!! One room was a suite with living room with pull-out, bedroom with king bed, and a little kitchenette, mini-fridge, microwave. Other room was 2 queen beds. Worked great...we needed the extra room and especially the extra bathroom!! We also looked at Marriott Courtyard Midtown East. Good luck!

Have you looked at Radio City Apartments (actually a legal hotel)? They're also located in Midtown and from what I remember are very reasonably priced - you could likely split into two apartments/rooms for close to $500/night.

It really depends on how many beds you need/want and bathrooms and whether you'd prefer 2 rooms. Most of the suite hotels can sleep 5 in a 1 bedroom suite with 2 double or queen beds in the bedroom and a sofabed in the living room but that's only 1 bathroom and a lot of sharing/togetherness.

affinia.com

is a chain of suite hotels at varying prices. 2 or 3 of their hotels also have 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suites that are quite large, the cheapest usually being the Eastgate Tower. Right now a 2 bedroom there at the beginning of Oct. is over $500, about double what it's been in recent previous years. All the prices have really gone up (again). Most of these hotels are in midtown with the Affinia Gardens on the edge of midtown/upper east side. You won't find any suite hotels in the trendier areas like Soho, east village or the flatiron district but you may find some hotels where you could get 2 rooms within your budget.

nycsalisbury.com

beaconhotel.com

Best Western Hospitality

are some other suite hotels with 2 bedroom suites that usually have to be booked by contacting the hotels directly by email or phone. You might also want to contact the London agency

www.apartments2book.com

who have contracts with many of the suite hotels and sometimes get a better rate.
