Where to Stay in Center City Philadelphia in January

Hi, I have to be in Philadelphia for one or two weeks in January 2006. Can anyone suggest affordable accomodations, preferably with cooking facilities (or at least a fridge)? La Reserve B&B offers a decent rate on their Penn Franklin Efficiency, but have no pictures or physical description except that it's next door to the main B&B. Has anyone seen it? I'm female and will be there on my own, so safety is a consideration. A location within walking distance of Essene Natural Food Store (719 S 4th St) would be a huge plus. Thank you for your help.

If cooking facilities is your top priority, then the Marriott Residence Inn may be your best bet. It's located right across from City Hall so once you find it, you'll never get lost! It is a healthy walk to Essene though: 10 blocks east then 7.5 blocks south. Perhaps 20-25 minutes.
