One day in Savannah

Looks like we will only have one day in Savannah. What should we see, do, explore, eat etc. while there for one day with kids ages 10 & 8. Will be there in May right before Memorial Day Weekend.

A trolley or horse drawn tour would be good and something the kids might like. After, walk the squares and read the historical signs along the way. It also gives the kids a place to run a bit. There are many beautiful homes and churches along the way. Some you can go through. City Market has shops and places to eat or get a drink. Vinnie Van Go Go's (in C M) has always been a favorite spot for a slice of pizza. Our grandkids that age loved it. Walking through Colonial Park Cemetery is a good hisory lesson. River Street has lots of shops; the kids can watch for ships big and little. The Waving Girl statue is there too. Take them into the candy shops for free samples. The Pirates House is also a fun restaurant for kids that age. The pecan chicken is good there. I hope you have a wonderful, fun time with your family. We have wonderful memories of being there with ours.
