Planning a trip to Page, Arizona

Hello,

I am planning a trip to Arizona and I am looking for advice on what to do and how much expected time it may take.

Wednesday 10/4/2017 - Drive to Page Arizona + rest

Thursday 10/05/2017 - Horseshoe bend (how much time do you need here) + open to Suggestions

Friday - Antelope canyon + Lake Powell (thinking this may take all day)

Saturday - Open to suggestions

Sunday Drive to Vegas/ fly back

Thank you!

There's a group of TA DEs and posters heading to Page at the end of this month. We'll be there for 5-6 days. Our activities will include boating, hiking and a few parties. The hikes will mostly take place to the west in Pariah and White Pockets and other lesser known sites.

We'll give Antelope Canyon a miss. Most of us have been in the past before the overcrowding. HSBO is a one hour hike including time at the cliff top.

October is a great time to be here. Still, 4 days might be a little long. Most visitors find, for example, that they're able to tour Antelope Canyon (or one of several alternative slot canyons antelopecanyon.az/antelope-canyon-alternativ… ) and Horseshoe Bend in one day.

A Lake Powell Boat Tour can be anything from 1.5 hours to the better part of a day depending on what you want to see. Rainbow Bridge Tours are the longer option, taking anywhere from 6-8 hours depending on the water level of Lake Powell. Some hiking is involved. If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea, you might do a shorter boat tour, or maybe even a kayak tour antelopecanyon.az/antelope-hidden-canyon-kay… then if you still wanted to see Rainbow Bridge, take a flight over it. antelopecanyon.az/rainbow-bridge-and-lake-po…

Then maybe on your third day, do some easy hiking, such as the Rim Trail, Hanging Garden Trail, or the New Wave. If you want to spend that 4th day here, then one of the more involved hikes like RedRox describes, such as the White Pocket Fold or Alstrom Point might be fun for you. WPF is just gorgeous and unlike The Wave, doesn't require a permit. However, if you're driving a rental car, it's not advisable to take it on some of these roads. Going with a guided tour is the safer way to go https:/…

Ditto for Alstrom Point, there's a new tour outfitter in town that conducts 1/2 day guided tours up there ->: http://www.alstrompointtours.com/

Hmm, maybe 4 days won't be too long after all ;)
