Wish Someone Would Please Build a NICE Pet Friendly Hotel!

... in the Gatlinburg area. Most of the hotels there now that are pet friendly are basically the pits.

It would be nice if there was a small hotel just for those with (small) pets that had clean rooms with comfortable beds and other nice amenities.

There are a few newer ones down in Pigeon Forge that are pet friendly, but Gatlinburg is sadly lacking.

Maybe I'm being a visionary here but I wish someone would build a hotel that actually catered to people who traveled with their small pets. There is a market for that sort of thing out there especially in the Smoky Mtn. area where so many families spend their vacation, many of them with their pets.

Enough of being treated like a second class citizen when traveling with pets!

Just as a side note, it does seem that more and more cabin companies have pet friendly rentals than in the past few years, so maybe you could look into that option!

We did try a pet-friendly cabin last year in Wears Valley, once we got to the area where the cabin was there was about seven turns (some to the left some to the right) down small streets to get to the cabin, it was very confusing and easy to take a wrong turn and get lost. Of course we didn't know this when we rented the cabin, we also didn't know it was in an undesirable spot.

In the pictures everything looked great BUT pictures don't tell the whole story.

We live only 2 hours and 40 minutes away and never stay over two nights, we usually only stay one. Cabins require at least a two night minumum stay.

We also like to stay in the town of Gatlinburg where we're used to staying.

Bottom line is cabin's just don't suit our needs - unless someone knows of a nice pet-friendly cabin inside of Gatlinburg that allows a two night stay.

Don't know anything about these hotels or whether you would consider them nice. Quick search found that Ramada, Holiday Inn Sunspree and Midtown Lodge are pet friendly. If someone has experience with these tell rhododendron what you think.

Thanks retiredteacher96. We did stay at the Holiday Inn Sunpree one time and took a peek at a room at the Ramada another time (one peek was enough!) We'll probably try Midtown Lodge next time.

The Sunpree was alright and it did have a comfortable bed but we had to walk a few blocks from our room to the dog walking area sometimes in the rain and at night.
