Don't know one in Gatlinburg, but Happy Days in Pigeon Forge, close to The Comedy Barn has a fifties theme and very good food. Their banana splits are unbelievable.

There is a little fiftys cafe on the arts & Craft loop in Gatlinburg...We have driven past it, but have not stopped to eat there, so I can't comment on the food, but they have burgers, shakes, ice cream and their dinners are listed as meat loaf, ham & beans, chicken & dumplings, and fish. There is also a Crusin the 50's shop on the loop that sells nostalgic memorabilia. In Pigeon Forge, at stoplight # 3 is Mels Diner....we love it there, but it's not for everyone....very casual, 50's music playing on the jukebox ..friendly banter with the servers..wearing "kiss my grits" tee-shirts..but, usually very busy and loud ! They have great burgers and shakes, old fashioned sundaes , all named after characters from the 50/60 tv shows...( the Fonz, etc) We always stop at least twice for breakfast and sometimes late at night for a burger/fries or a shake. Don't confuse Mels Diner with "the Diner" they are two completly different places.

I believe the place you are referring to is on the arts and crafts loop. It is called Nifty Fiftys Cafe. I have never had any personal experience with them but you can get more information at discover the smokies including the menu. here is the link greatsmokyartsandcraftscommunity.com/_shops/…

On a last note we love to eat at Mel's diner in Pigeon forge. If you want a great meal in a classic diner environment check them out.
