Recs for restaurants walkable from the plaza, please

My husband likes to park the car at the hotel and walk to dinner when we are in Santa Fe, so would love to have walkable recs.

Yes, I have combed the postings on this forum. There aren't a lot of recent postings, at least there doesn't appear to be a consensus.

Just hoping to get some recent feedback.

OUr favorite used to be Cafe Pasqual but the last two or three times there have been disappointing.

We had a fab meal at Coyote Cafe a couple of years but when we returned we had the worst meal ever in SF.

We usually go for small plates at the bar of El Meson. Is that still recommended?

We love Bumble Bee and Clafouti's but need some dinner ideas.

Thanks so much for your ideas.

there are so many walkable from the Plaza restaurants. Some are very short walk, others are a bit longer walk. What kind of dinner are you looking for? Fancy, casual or bar/brewpub kind of place?

Right on the Plaza/very close (all price points) - La Plazuela at La Fonda, Anasazi, The Shed, La Casa Sena, Bull Ring, Osteria d' Assisi, Del Charro, Blue Corn Cafe, Luminaria at Inn at Loretto, Santa Cafe, Rooftop Pizza, India Palace, Tomme (a new place getting great reviews), San Francisco Street Bar and Grill, 315,

A bit further from Plaza - Restaurant Martin, Vanessie, Rio Chama Steakhouse

Canyon Road - Geronimo, Compound, El Farol (tapas and flamenco dance show)

Railyard area - Amaya at Hotel Santa Fe, Tomasitas, Second Street Brewery, Pranzo,

My husband just reminded me that the Palace Restaurant has reopened with a new chef, Joseph Wrede, from Joseph's Table fame in Taos. http://www.palacesantafe.com/

Almost NO good reviews on the new Palace. Maybe later, but not yet, for sure. The eclectic Tomme (by owner of Max's) great and Japanese fusion San Q by the owner of Kohnami almost so, and both 100 yards or so from the Plaza. Check Yelp for reviews as TA is miserably slow getting them up.

Thank you Woody. I did see the disappointing reviews of the Palace. Maybe they will improve with time.

Thanks for the alert.

We visited last spring and our favorites were The Shed and Blue Corn Cafe.
