Room advice for Holiday Village Rhodes

We are staying at the Holiday Village Rhodes in July for the first time with our 5 year old son and have read numerous reviews about room types, the deluxe area is fully booked. If anyone has any advice on which area/room to request as we prefer to get the sun on an afternoon but be in the best position to enjoy the entertainment but also some quiet time over a bottle of wine when our son is sleeping. Any tips we would be grateful?

We stayed in Activity last year and were very happy as loll facilities are near-by. Deluxe area didn't appear to be worth the upgrade (apart from possibly separate restaurant?) and we spent a lot if time around the Relax pool during the day as we thought it was the nicest pool ... but was a few mins walk from Entertainment, Restaurants, etc.

Thanks JimBSE,

What type of room did you have, did you have the sun on the afternoon, balcony etc?

We stayed downstairs (swim-up room) in block 3100. There is a map on the hotel's own website. We remember having more sun in evening than morning, but being downstairs it wasn't all that noticeable :-). To give you an idea of position of the sun; in the Relax area blocks 5500 & 5600 had sun all day, the blocks facing in the other direction had very little sun on the front.
