post-hurricane updates

Hi all,

my partner and I visited the coast in March 22' and had a dreamy time in Mazunte and had already decided return in the new year when we got back home. We were both devastated to learn about the hurricane and reached out to our airbnb host to check in and send some money. We just booked an apartment for February of next year in hopes of another lovely vacation and supporting the economy. I am curious if anyone knows how the main Mazunte drag, the beach bars in SA and playa mermejita are doing?

I was about to post a similar question. Has Mazunte recovered?

Also wondering?? Was hoping to come in January, but suspect maybe things are not back running. Seems like much less housing options noted than we had last year. Wondering if restaurants may still be closed?

Any update appreciated.

Hi team

Never been to Mazunte before but first time this week.

Things seem to be “normal” as i didn’t even know a hurricane hit the region. In saying that i have noticed quite a bit of construction so it is possible there was some damage. I did notice one roof of a building looked blown away and one of the nicer restaurants on the beach seems to have work going on on the second storey ( i thought this was just an upgrade but could have been damaged)

There are still many restaurants, cafes and accomodation options to choose from.

Hope this helps :)

Here right now as we speak, first time here but most things seem to be up and running,we a re staying at punta placer and when walking on the beach I would defiantly say they were beat up by the hurricane but town seems very resilient and most things seem open!
