One day stop in Sete

My husband and I are here in Sete for one day during our cruise in Oct. We are both 60. We love the arts, dance and music, art and architecture. Just do not want to do churches! What else is there to see or do. Willing to venture by public transportation. Is Avignon too far?

Thanks for your advice!

You can look for trains to Avignon on https://www.voyages-sncf.com/ Should not be too far if you have a full day.

A good introduction to Sete. ..

Not too many churches, mainly settled by Algerians.

Avignon is quite far. Montpellier & Nîmes are closer.

I think that Avignon is just a bit far despitebit beingban excellent place to visit.

It depends on what you will already have seen and done on your cruise, but a visit to Nîmes with the excellent Roman arena (still used today), unique Roman Maison Carrée and Roman Tour Magne is much appreciated by thousands of visitors from around the world.
