Punta Cana has miles and miles of nice long beaches, but it's by the Atlantic coast. Bayahibe beach is not that long, Dominicus beach is long enough to go for a nice walk and both are on the Caribbean side. Calm turquoise blue waters. La Romana city has a one small beach, mostly used by locals, not really good for a beach walk, but nice to visit if you want to see the local life, no resorts or hotels there.

4. Re: beaches

Hello there,

We are thinking to go for 2 months (Jan - Feb) to Bayahibe/Dominicus; any good suggestions for best location to rent a condo so there is easy access to public beaches, supermarkets, etc.

Any additional info is mostly appreciated.

THanks!

Any condo you rent in Bayahibe or Dominicus is very close to shopping and also to the public beach. Both village are small. It might be a bit too late to rent a place, Jan - Feb is a high season and people usually book way ahead of time. But I will ask and let you know.

The beaches in Punta Cana are mile-long and can be very broad. In Bayahibe, the sand is very white, the water calm and of a beautiful turquoise color. The fishing village of Bayahibe is also very tranquil with restaurants, supermarkets and the public beach all within walking distance and there´s lots of nice, small hotels.
