If you arrive by TGV at Milan's central station, proceed to Como by train, then the cable railway up to Brunate.

Note: trains from Mila's central station end up at COmo San Giovanni station, which is a long(ish) walk or a short taxi or bus ride from the Brunate cablecar station.

Depending on when you're traveling, you may need to take the substitute bus up to Brunate from the funicular station, as the cable railway is currently shut down for repairs until the end of July.

Once you get to the top, in Brunate, are there coffee shops and restaurants?

Anything to visit, or just walks and the beautiful vistas?
