I was wondering how much it rains in Chiapas in September? Is it worth going?

September is typically the rainiest month in all of Mexico. Plenty of websites can give you rainfall averages for the part(s) of the state you'll be visiting, Google and take your pick. But only you can know how much rain makes it worth going or not. Sometimes it'll rain all day, other times only at night.
