What to visit from Grundarfjordur to Reykjavik

We would travel from Grundarfjordur to Reykjavik and wonder what to see or do along the route or around the area. Any recommendation? Thanks.

You previously had plans to travel by public transport.. Did you travel to Grundarfjörður by bus, or did you rent a car ? If you're on public transport all you can visit are the rest stops en route and enjoy the nature passing by.

If you're in a rental car (no public transport to most places mentioned) there are numerous places scattered around. Snæfellsjökull national park, Bjarnarhöfn farm. Visit the small church and have shark. Gerðuberg basalt columns, Rauðamelskirkja church, the area has numerous hidden mineral water springs, Eldborg crater, Landbrotalaug, Sönghellir, Borg á Mýrum historical site, Borgarnes village, Langisandur in Akranes and Akranes lighthouse (minor detours), Hvalfjörður is filled to the brim with small sites and a few hiking routes.

A small detour from Borgarnes has Deildartunguhver, Barnafoss and Hraunfossar, Reykholt to see, just to name a few. Buy the fresh berries and vegetables from Sólbyrgi in Kleppjárnsreykir greenhouse village, bring cash.
