Buenavista or Ensenachos?

Any suggestions.. am a little hesitant about the Ensenachos because it's not adults only...

Depends on what you are looking for. Ensenachos has the better beach, IMHO. But it is larger. Buenavista is more intimate, and as you say, adults only.

I recently spent 3 days with my wife at Melia Buenavista, I can honestly say it was one of the best hotels we have been to in Cuba. The hotel has a "boutique" feel to it and is very intimate. Both a la cartes offered had excellent food and offered superior service. I do agree the beach is not that good but then again you do have access to other stretch of beach at the other Melia properties and transfers are included..

The boutique look of the hotel means you could be any where in the world.

The beach isn't bad.......it's the west end of the beach all the CSM hotels are on. This beach stretches for miles if you like to walk, but the sand is quite yielding and not the easiest walking. There is pretty decent snorkelling right off the beach, and if you walk a very short distance east it is nice and sandy getting into the water. Being on a peninsula or sorts, it also has beaches on three sides......very shallow water on the south, small cove beach on the west.

The beaches at Ensenachos are wide, beautiful, and about a kilometer long each. Also quite firm to walk on. Since they are more sheltered, there will be less of an issue with waves on windy days......therefore less red flag days.
