“Avoid This Carrier - Go Qantas”
Review of Air New Zealand

Reviewed February 19, 2018 via mobile

My husband and I were traveling in Australia and New Zealand for almost a month. We traveled to and within Australia on Qantas and they were excellent—service, customer support, on-time, comfort, meals, etc. were outstanding. Air New Zealand employees were rude, their baggage restrictions are unreasonable, meals were not palatable, etc. New Zealand depends on tourism as their number one source of income but this airline bleeds all their tourists from seat assignment charges to outrageous baggage fees. Enjoy your vacation in beautiful New Zealand—fly Qantas!!!

NZ105 and NZ108 both Charter due to 787 Rolls Royce issues Both flights are fine for a 3 hour trip . They inform you at booking about it and the service will differ and to bring your own device and we both downloaded some Netflix to prepare . At the end of the day i can't really fault them. They obviously have done all they can to keep the flights operating with the issue by getting these planes at short notice.

We flew premium economy from Hawaii to Auckland and were very pleased and surprised by the service and comfort delivered. Premium economy and business premium passengers are given equal priority in check-in and boarding. Once on board, the legroom is fantastic and the seats wide and comfortable. The cabin staff are very attentive and the meals are superb and drinks many and varied. The only major difference I could see from business class is the lack of fully reclining seats.

I have family in New Zealand so I go there every couple of years to visit. I used to love Air New Zealand because the flight attendants were always so friendly and fun but the last two flights I took were really disappointing. All of the flight attendants except one woman were cold, unfriendly and seemed less than thrilled to be working. I get that these are long haul flights and they were probably tired like the rest of us, but this didn't used to be the case. I've had two friends who flew ANZ and reported the same experience on their recent flights. On the up side, the plane was nice, new and clean and the pilots got us there safely and on time.

Great flight experience, great service staff, smooth flight of the aircraft, although the departure time delayed 20 minutes, but there are radio announcements.
