Dont bother paying for preferred supposedly bigger seats. Leg room was ok but this depends on who sits next to you. I was crushed by two very large people and the seat belt wouldnt even go around me.

I have a fractured rib and so I specifically booked left side of plane and paid for up front seating. Both flights the planes were changed to bigger planes to accommodate extra passengers. I was not informed of this and was given plain economy seats even though I paid $25 each for the skycouch seats. I went to the service desk to ask to be put in preferred seats. Sorry plane is full. Sorry I paid for more leg room. So they put me on right hand side of plane with empty seats all around us....i was squashed into a corner and my ribs tonight are killing me.

I know its all about making money but you cant put a 20stone person in an economy seat. Its about time airlines realised this.

The staff on the plane were nice enough and food was much better than qantas. Their top up service was good too.

But being cramped between two very large people is not ideal way to travel!

Quick trip to Melbourne for a trade show and as always try to support our airline!

Unfortunately for me I’m Gluten Free and ANZ gluten free meals are simply terrible.
Breakfast was Spinach and Chick peas and scrambled egg.
This is the third time having dreadful meals with ANZ and simply wouldn’t fly any further than 3-4 hours with them.

The staff are wonderfull the flying experience excellent but when comparing GF meals of Singapore airlines and ANZ I’m afraid they simple don’t rate.

I hope to never fly air new Zealand again its a flippin circus!!communication is zero and they quite happy to cancel.flights and make your trip a nightmare to save money....ill fly jet star next time you stuck air new Zealand 🇳🇿

I agree with some other negative comments in this forum. They cancelled our direct flight on short notice and rebooked on other flights that took more than double the time and a lot more hassles. They state air crew sickness as the reason for cancellation, however the actual reason is they cancel the flights to save money when there are not enough bookings. It inconveniences the passengers who trusted and booked with them, however they are not concerned about it . You will understand how arrogant they are when you try to contact their customer service.

Don't waste your money on AirNZ business class.
It's literally the worst design possible. Zero privacy and awkward layout. IFE screen is off to the side, and when you pull out out, it blocks the tray table.
No amenity kit offered, no toiletries in the lavatory, and the food choices extremely poor. No drinks or wine menu, and the wine I wanted they ran out of.
If you want a true business class experience, stay away from air NZ
