“Another smooth flight”
Review of Alaska Airlines

Reviewed June 24, 2019

We had another great flying experience on Alaska on a recent trip to see our niece graduate from UC Davis. It was particularly smooth on the Seattle end, when the ability to print bag tags at home, drop our bags on arrival at the airport, and relax in the Board Room lounge made everything easy. The trip back was tougher, because there were just two folks checking bags, and they were do so while ignoring the long, long line of people with tagged bags waiting to drop them, in favor of people who apparently had endless problems and hadn't gotten anything done in advance like checking in or getting a bag tag. Those Sacramento Alaska personnel need some help, and better training. The flight itself was very smooth on the return trip as well.

The rules are not really clear on using a RealID to fly, and when I purchased the ticket they didn't let me know that we needed a passport UNTIL IT WAS TIME TO CHECK IN. and even keeping the same connection from Seattle to OC, they made me have CHANGE FEES AND THE DIFFERENCE IN FLIGHT COST. topped it off with dirty, old planes, gross bathrooms and rude employees and we are really nice, patient people!

We became members of Alaska Airlines so that we could take advantage of their offer to fly one 12 bottle box of wine per person for free. Not only that, but if you show your membership number and your inbound flight number the tasting fee at many wineries is waved. It saved us several hundred dollars since the purpose of our flight was to visit the area's wineries.

Our flight was five hours long and there was no food service, but we were prepared and packed our own meals. They are constantly doing up and down the aisles offering water, which is good. No movies, but there are ipads to rent for $10. Alaska Air has an app where you can watch streaming movies for free on their ipads or on your own.

Our flight was on-time, the staff was very friendly both in the airport and on the plane itself. The entertainment options were excellent, from shows to currrent movies etc.., it makes the long flights go by much quicker. The power chargers in the seat backs were a great addition. This made it possible to watch entertainment without draining your battery.

The plane filled early so we left 15 minutes early. Love it. Seats were comfortable, however, Alaska was advertising they were redoing the old Virgin America planes like the one we were on in the next few months. Flight attendants are friendly and allowed those of us that wanted to sleep to do so. Once we were awake they were very attentive.
