“Tight & cramped....”
Review of Alitalia

Reviewed January 22, 2018

Full flight, got lucky by getting two seats on one side of the plane but there was little leg room and very hard to get comfortable in seat!!! If we had known better we would have paid the extra money to get 1st class which had bigger seats with much more leg room but there were only about 20 1st class seats....

We flew to Rome from JFK and upgraded to comfort seating for $85 each (emergency exit row). This was a big waste of money. The seats were next to the lavatories. This meant crowds of passengers standing around and on top of us during the whole flight.

One of the lavatory doors was broken and kept opening on its own, making a lot of noise.

My companions seat was broken and when “reclined” just flopped all the way back onto the passenger behind her, so she could not ever recline during the entire overnight flight.

The food was surprisingly bad, the coffee undrinkable (I am not a picky eater and don’t expect much from airlines, but the coffee was old, burned and bitter).

On the bright side, the crew was very attentive and kind (and beautifully dressed, love their uniforms, right down to the shoes).

Alitalia is the way to fly to Italy!
You get the experience of Italy while on your in the air.
The food is actually edible and the attendants are very pleasant.
The only issue I had was too little leg room in economy-but what airline has enough
leg room in economy???

Apparently Italians love their ferrets as much as dogs and cats.
Awesome that we could bring the 2 little beasts with us for the vacation for an extra fee of 75 Euro.
Apart from being able to bring "the whole family" on our winter trip, the service has been really nice, the airplane was clean and perfumed well. We had a nice little snack. Just sit back and enjoy the trip to Italia :-)

Intercontinental Business Class is really good, but short range is probably one of the worst. Why? Bad organisation, little legroom but really trendy seats. I must admit that. Service is OK. In a few words: good only for long range.
