So, I booked a flight for myself and my pets on Egyptair, departing from Baghdad and heading to Toronto. The process was quite challenging. After completing all the necessary paperwork, including health certificates and vaccinations, I finally managed to check in one of my dogs. However, I faced a significant setback during my 17-hour layover in Cairo. Despite being informed that I could take my pet out of cargo, I was unable to do so upon arrival. Consequently, I was left without seeing my pet for the entire duration of the layover.
In terms of customer service, Egyptair provided the worst experience I’ve ever encountered at an airport and airline. They lack a dedicated facility for pets, and there’s no one available to provide water, food, or take them out to the bathroom. If you’re considering flying with Egyptair or using their airport in Cairo, be prepared to have your pet confined to a kennel throughout the entire transit process. I strongly advise against traveling with Egyptair, especially when traveling with pets.
