Review of LAN Airlines (now LATAM Airlines)

I would put this into the category of spending 13 hours in a sardine can. Many airlines are stripping valuable inches from economy seats to pack a few more in. Lantam have gone just about as far as they can although I suppose if they only allow passengers who are size 0 and 5 ft tall they can take out another inch or two.
Leg room is one thing. Seat width is another. Being cramped can be bearable if the service is good but 13 hours without a coffee was tough. We were in a row at the junction of two serving crews so at meal times needed to realize when they ask you what you want to drink you order juice, water and coffee because after they have served a meal they come from each end but do not quite meet in the middle and no amount of waving, pressing buttons etc made any difference. So you drink your coffee before your meal when it's hot or after when it's cold and in the cramped space that is a logistical problem.
In between we pressed the call button seeking a drink of any description and while she said OK we never saw her again until next meal time.

Reasonable comfort for a long flight. The hour of so's break in Auckland was welcome; food satisfactory; friendly service. A bit of trouble on boarding: there had been double-booking and this caused a delay. Probably not the airline's fault and ground staff were at pains to resolve the difficulty efficiently.

I always try to fly LAN, and in this case, I was not disappointed. Being locked up for 14, yes 14, hours inside a single aircraft with other 200+ people is something difficult. This is a very long flight, but I have to say I had a good experience.

Let me start with the seat: its economy, so its not big, not wide, and it does only recline like 10°... that said, I had a very good sleep. The cabin of the Boeing Dreamliner is dark, quiet, perfect temperature and perfect humidity... I did not feel like in other overnight flights. I was really good.

Entertainment is excellent, too: many movies to choose from (had time to see two of them), lots of music, games... in all a very good and reliable system. If they would only not interrupt with those announcements!

Food is good, in spite of being the classic economy food. Always hot and good beverage selection. 5 kinds of wine, some beers, and many soft drinks. Also, during the night you can walk to the galley and they always have snacks and soft drinks available for you... for free!

Service on board and off-board is top quality with LAN. You can always count on the agents and attendants to help you.

I think this is one of the best airlines I´ve ever had, the service is amazing, people is really kind and also everything is beautiful nd organized, by the way the coffee during the flight is delicious.

Lan Peru provided good service from Lima to Cusco and back. The short flight included a small snack, not much but it helped. The flight up was early morning; the return was mid-afternoon. Both were on time, efficient on check in and with luggage delivery. The seat was decent. The staff was quite friendly and helpful.
