The first two legs of my flight were on Lufthansa. Such a relief when travelling to know certain standards will be met. From efficient check in to nice quiet modern planes with friendly staff, comfy seats and great service, lufthansa delivers. They put a lot of emphasis on being on time and keeping you informed, which is much appreciated, but its also the smaller comforts which make the difference. The nicer newer quieter planes, appetizing food, pre-dinner cocktails, beer and wine all included are things that make me look for lufthansa tickets first.
Unfortunately, the 3rd leg of my trip was taken on by air Canada. Not the same standard at all. I was expecting an old battered plane with indifferent service but we didn't even get that. After a long wait in Montreal we ended up in a short school bus with no service other than a box of timbits to share around.

Nice flight on A340-300 Business Class, that slow take off only happens with the 340-300...quite something if you are able to notice the difference. . There were two Cabin attendants for 18 passengers and 7 hours ahead to provide service but this was somehow rushed. The cabin attendants do not use the trolleys anymore except for the bar, but still does not get to the level of perfection and kindness of Qatar Airways (amazing by the way !).

In the FRA terminal B business lounge the plugs do not work at most of the stations I had to try to be able to finally plug successfully my phone & laptop to be recharged. Lounge staff was nice and choices are plenty. Some more chaiselongs would help to have a little rest for a 7 hrs transfer. Very clean and quite although being quite full, not at 6am but at noon. But still quite good to be refreshed, fed and rested a bit.

The only thing I disliked was that apparently the Purser chooses an order on serving the clients and it is not by rows...I guess she wanted to make sure her Miles&More senior passesngers were getting the menu selection they wanted... that was my perception ...I could be wrong but there was no order by rows...

I am an average traveler that because of work has traveled to Germany 4 times with 3 different airlines, to be honest this has been the best.
Flight attendants are kind and they always do their best to keep you comfortable.
Quality of food and variety is better than the US based airlines.
Entertainment is good, they have good choices even for kids.

We flew Air Canada from Calgary to Frankfurt. Ho hum service (dinner was cold by the time the wine cart came...for the first time). Got on a Lufthansa short haul from Frankfurt to Manchester and as soon as the plane was at cruising altitude the food (lovely sandwich) and drinks were being served (imagine a free beer on a short haul flight or even a sandwich...doesn't happen in North America). Same on our return flight to Munich. Then we boarded a Lufthansa long haul to Vancouver. Super service. A drink before dinner, drinks with dinner and a dinner that was superb and came with metal cutlery rather than flexible plastic. How can the European and Asian Airlines offer such great service and North American Airlines cannot. Congrats Lufthansa!!!

Used the Lufthansa lounge after security and had a quick snack and grabbed a newspaper. Quick 1 hour 15 minute flight on Lufthansa in Business Class. There were only 2 passengers including myself for the 9 business class seats on the Airbus 320. Service was efficient - food was a cold cheese platter. Asked for a pillow and no problems. Took a 30 minute nap and arrived relaxed.
