Bumped from seat, delays, delays, lies and more delays.
I flew from Sydney to Melbourne for a weekend away. On my Melbourne bound journey I was bumped from my seat (full paying business class fare) to economy to allow for a Qantas employee who was on the clock (working) to fly business. I was told 10 minutes before departure. What poor management decisions lead an organisation to make such decisions? Bizarre.
On my return flight from Melbourne to Sydney the flight was delayed 2 times. I was told it was because of a storm front. Other flights to Sydney and Coffs Harbour took off from Melbourne before, at the time of and after my original flight’s time. So the weather reason was a blatant lie.
I find the signs all around Qantas and the airport demanding respectful treatment if it’s staff and employees an offence. Customer are treated with disrespect, unprofessionalism and dishonesty and expected to walk away with a smile and accept it.
Qantas is awful. It is dying. Do not choose this airline. Do not be fooled by its slick ads and marketing. Qantas does not deserve this country’s loyalty.
I hope it is eaten up by another airline and is shown how to actually run and treat its customers.
