“on time”
Review of Ryanair

Reviewed October 17, 2018

Was flying with Ryanair to Malta. We arrived on time and were allowed to bring one small bag and a small suitcase per person. However, if you haven't paid for priority and baggage, you can still bring a small suitcase and it will be kept in the cargo compartment instead. Husband and I don't mind waiting for the suitcase so didn't opt for the priority pass.
I would not say the cabin is very clean or comfortable. But at least, we arrived on time and is safe. Cabin crews are friendly and approachable. Ryanair is actually available in most places, we will fly with Ryanair again in the future. Cabin allowance is quite generous compared with other low-cost airlines.

We booked car hire via Ryaair with Goldcar at Alicante airport. Be warned. Their business model intimidates customers who do not want to take their own insurance. Cars are not properly inspected by Goldcar with preexising damage consequently unmarked. It’s up to the hirer to examine the vehicle, in the case of Alicante airport, in the gloom. We were charged £33 airport tax, despite our legal third party contract stating under £6. Our first car had unmarked damage that we reported. Goldcar took some time to record this, keeping us waiting, serving others. Then, the Goldcar rep noticed the passenger door lock was damaged. They said we should not take this car out in case the remote failed and replaced it, taking more time. The replacement car had an unmarked scratch. More time waiting for a rep to be free to photograph the scratch. Upshot was that we have been charged nearly €250 for the damage to a lock on a car we did not hire. One week on after reporting this to Goldcar we are still awaiting a response. Poor show.

All other companies allows a small and a larger bag without bagage checkin, but Ryanair have started to charge extra for bringing it onboard. Why? Just to try to earn some extra. Priority boarding is not priority, only to be first in queue and be standing in the queue lounger than the rest, and since its not free seating it is also just a trick to earn some extra.
The seats are not adjustable which means that you are sitting straight for the whole trip.. everything they do is to try to earn some extra and the service is bad, really bad.
We had a person that needed medial attention right before we should tax out, we thought he had a stroke or heartattack.
After doctor on the plane helped him we continued the taxing without letting him of.
The staff asked the doctor If he was faking it and said that they had a time schedule and they needed to lift..

After all the bad press regarding Ryanair, I now think it's a very good service. The punctuality of the flights is now normally very good, with any delays ,usually not the fault of Ryanair. The option of being able to book with seats, baggage and priority boarding already included in the cost of the flight is a brilliant idea and saves all the messing about of adding extras. It may not appeal to some but it's now stopped the overhead lockers
being filled to bulging.
