“Nice Flight Experience.”
Review of United Airlines

Reviewed 5 weeks ago

I have flown United before and found their inflight service satisfactory. No hassles trip and their connectivity is what I loved more.

Although faced some resistance from the lady at checkin who was quite adamant for even couple of extra pounds.. but overall it was a satisfactory experience.

Check-in was easy for this flight via the United app. Security was a breeze thanks to TSA Pre-Check. The airport experience was pretty awful, though, as there was no lounge and a plethora of screaming kids and babies. Even worse, the flight was delayed due to a late-arriving aircraft. I made myself as comfortable as possible via the massage chair at the gate and the bar adjacent to the gate.

Eventually, it was time for boarding, and I was among the first aboard. Waiting at my seat was a flimsy blanket but no pillow. I found this a very disappointing offering for a red-eye flight, where passengers want to maximize sleep. Also waiting at my seat was a used metal spoon form the previous flight, indicating that clearly the aircraft hadn't been cleaned in between flights. Pre-departure beverages weren't started until doors closed, and as such, me, being in the last row of First Class, was not offered a pre-departure beverage, for which the lead flight attendant apologized.

Once in the air, a beverage of choice, including pre-made mai tai's, was offered. The mai tai came with Pineapple and a cherry, which was WAY better than what the competition (cough, cough, American) offers on Hawaii flights. The meal, er ,snack, was way better than American's offering, too. We were offered a choice of either a chicken sandwich or Asian Noodle Salad (both served cold). I opted for the chicken sandwich, and found it of good quality, but dry as no mayonnaise was offered. About 12 red grapes were offered in a bowl on the side, as well as a wrapped Godiva chocolate. Drinks were kept re-filled throughout the flight, and warmed scones and a hot towel were offered prior to arrival.

Entertainment was only offered via the United app as there was no seatback entertainment on this aircraft.

Overall, this flight was good, but would have been made better with some better blankets and a pillow.

Flying non stop from Washington DC to Vancouver, BC is considered international flight according to United. There is no free food served even though it's a 6 hour flight. The flight attendants look very happy that they don't have to serve anything but collect the trash and get it over. There is no joy and sense of humor from the captain nor the attendants. As usual very limited mileage has been credited. We have requested upgrade 30 days prior to the flight but we even didn't make it to the top 5 before the flight time. Using Boeing 737 to such long flight is nothing but suffer.

Nothing beats the direct service from the Bay Area to Tel Aviv, so much better than any connecting flights out there.
Great flight on the 787 Dreamliner, the service on Business Class was very pleasant and professional, seats are great with full flat beds.
Very much better and different from the service in UA domestic flights.

Flight from SFO to KOA was delayed by 35 minutes, no gate number or help provided by staff as we were traveling from YYZ. Rude hostesses hit me and my son with trolley instead of apologizing she started arguing... very old 737 plane with garbage all over the floor. No space for carry in bags as overhead baggage portion was ripped off plastic and full. will not recommend
