“Wish they were back in European Holidays”
Review of Virgin Atlantic Airways

Reviewed December 16, 2017

From V Lounge to aeroplane Virgin know how to make you feel both welcome and valued. The flight crew were lovely young people, nothing was too much trouble and drinks and food service was excellent. I should have preordered a vegetarian lunch as the pasta was spoiled for me with a mushroom sauce which is not my choice - my fault. The Virgin onboard store also had a great selection of perfumes, make up and jewellery. I have flown with many airlines but Virgin remains my No 1 and first choice for transatlantic, I loved their European Holidays and was sorry when they were discontinued.

No where does it say to leave your red blanket. Having travelled from a warm climate, cool on the plane so used the red blanket and tried to take it with me out to the “minus 1 degree” as announced by the pilot. The steward on the way out said “ you have to leave that” he could see I was only wearing a thin blouse with a thin jacket. Not impressed.

Even though flight had been called still quite a lot of hanging around the gate. Could have been a smoother departure experience.

Upper class cabin seats 8/9. Far enough away from the toilets. Good service throughout, right level of attention. Flatbeds not that comfortable but an option to layout and get some sleep. Some areas of seating could have been cleaner. Sleep suits are good for size 8's but not good if you are you are larger.

Food choices good. Bar service good. Cabin crew on-hand when needed.

Upstairs seating in Premium Economy. Plenty of space around seats and legroom. More storage on window side and in overhead locker. Flight was delayed departing but made up time. Good on-board service throughout. Good range of films/entertainment.

First time upgraded to premium economy, well, it was well worth it. The staff and attention you got was amazing. Plenty of drink and food offered and always looking to help make the flight better. Highly recommend this upgrade, the cost is worth it. Extra seat room, comfy and made the long haul flight seem short haul. Very relaxed at destination after 9 hours.
