“I have only 2 problems with AirAsia...”
Review of AirAsia - AirAsia Berhad (Malaysia)

Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Virtually my only complaint with AirAsia is that it doesn't seem possible to book connecting flights between the different companies that make up AirAsia ie AirAsia Berhad, AirAsia Indonesia, AirAsia Thailand etc.
I wanted to travel from Makassar Indonesia to Hong Kong which involves AA Berhad & AA Indonesia..The connection time in KL for flights is quite close and because I can't "transit" i have to go in & out of Malaysian Immigration... There are only 4 flights a week from Makassar to KL & it was a stress filled time at KL airport.... I just made the HK flight but because of the uncertainty I couldn't make ongoing bookings until I arrived in HK.
It would be good if the different branches of AirAsia communicated with each other...... I am quite happy with AirAsia otherwise... except for the paper towels in the toilet!! They are just tissues & fall apart..

The cheapest way to fly to Kuala Lumpur with cabin bag (7kg max) only.
Onboard meal was an extra MYR15. Cheaper if pre booked online.
The flight was pleasant and on time.
The arrival gate to the main terminal was a long walk but manageable.

Checkin was terrible. Jaw dropped as the staff individually scaled with home scales carry on bags at boarding pass, it was pathetic but entertaining as travellers went spazzy at the airline staff. Big airport; thought we was walking home, took 18min to get to plane. The plane was ancient, seats old and plastic with metal arm rests. When it took off it was like an old VW. Eight hours of hell sat next to toilets, people walking over your feet all night. Shhsss boom from the toilets all night. It reminded me of those ma and pa kettle movies; all we needed was chickens and ducks running up and down the cabin. NEVER EVER FLY THIS NIGHT ROUTE.

Having flew Air Asia on many occasions. This was one of the best of the lot. Especially the return flight from Hong Kong.

Check in was a breeze and was greeted with a smile.

Boarding was orderly and done efficiently. No delays at all.

A shout out to the cabin crew especially to the air steward (did not ask for his name) for his entertaining announcements. Tony would have been proud of it.

Air Asia is a budget airlines so narrow space between seat and baggage rule is just 7kgs hand baggage allowed. On return from Kuala Lumpur to New Delhi Airlines staff even weighed our hand baggage. So sad. You are allowed checking Baggage on paid basis. Food is provided on paid basis. Airlines have male and females air hostesses. They are polite. Flights are timely. Overall no problem if you are not expecting extra comfort.
