“Ok for one night”
Reviewed 13 August 2011

My husband and I opted to stay at the Falcon as an alternative to Wroxhull Abbey where we were at a wedding. It was clean and a good size for one night. However the noise from the road was unbelievable, at times it felt like the building shook. It had a real motel feeling as you could park right outside the room. On the plus side we ate in the restaurant and it was delicious and very reasonably priced.

We booked to stay at The Falcon for two nights in April 2011. Our booking was made in January through booking.com and we received our booking confirmation via email.

We travelled 200 miles and upon checking in at The Falcon at 8pm we were told that they didn't have a room for us! They claimed to have left a voice mail regarding the lack of space (this wasn't true) which, even if this had been the case, wasn't good enough in our opinion.

Our friends were due to join us the following night - they called ahead only to be told that they also didn't have a room. Thiswas following a phone call only a few days before where they were informed that everything was fine with the booking.

Overall, an absolutely appalling level of customer service.

Avoid booking at The Falcon if you would actually like somewhere to stay!

Firstly may I apologise personally for this inexcusable situation. Please be assured that this is not a regular occurence and the incident will be fully investigated with measures put in place to ensure it doesnt happen again.
We are passionate with providing comfortable, affordable accomodation hence why we do run at extremley high occupancy rates with guests returning on a regular basis.

It upsets me that you didnt get to experience the true Falcon and request that you contact me direct if you are ever in the area again.

Apologies again

We booked in as 3 couples. The accommodation was separate to the gastro pub which meant it was a bit quieter than most pub accommodation. It does feel isolated after the pub shuts so I wouldn't recommend it to a single female.
It's a lovely village setting and handy for Warwick, the M40, Coventry, and Stratford (6 miles). It is close to a busy road, but it didn't bother us, and the views over the fields were great. As the pub isn't open in the mornings the breakfast (included in the £40 room price) was orange juice, croissant, yoghurt, an orange and a mini cereal box each. There is a small fridge in the room. Basic with a rustic charm. Adequate parking right outside your door.
The pub is a bit pricey but friendly atmosphere and nice food. Has a large outdoor covered area with sofas for relaxing.

Having read reviews about the noise from the road we decided as we are heavy sleepers and the place was such good value we would try it anyway.
We are glad we did.
The rooms are in a row of cottages so you get your own front door with a parking space right outside.
They are large, functional and comfortable. The continental breakfast in the small room fridge is a great idea and ideal for early starts, it was so good to eat breakfast in our room looking out at the countryside.
The food at the pub was wonderful
The traffic noise started at 6.00am and didn't bother us too much, I'm sure it could be reduced with some secondary glazing.
A great place we will use again.

Lovely little hotel. Nice accommodation, had trouble locking the door so a member of staff came up to help. Fridge was fully stocked with breakfast and orange juice, bathroom very clean.

I read some reviews before I went about people having trouble getting hot water in the shower. We had no trouble with the water at all.

We went over to the restaurant in the evening, the food was expensive but lovely and very tasty.

Had no problems what so ever!

The Falcoln is a lovely restaurant/pub which offers great food and a nice atmosphere. It's a pity the accommodation is such a letdown. Lots of holes filled with expandable foam stuff, and not a drop of hot water, interesting stains on some of the furniture and a feeling of being completely abandoned once the pub shuts. Breakfast is in the mini fridge (though that is quite cute!) because of the lack of staff and, given that these are chalets away from the main building, I absolutely would not recommend it to lone female travellers.
