We stayed here for 11 nights from 20 th. February and absolutely loved it. The hotel is beautiful and set in acres of stunning gardens. All the staff are fantastic and very hard-working and very friendly and kind. The nurse was lovely when I arrived at the hotel from Hoi An where I had been unwell for 3 days. That is a great service to offer and I quickly recovered with her medication ! The tailor was so sweet and made me a beautiful silk blouse. Everything was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was the best of any hotel I have been to and I have travelled a lot. The resident band "Stardust" were a lovely family, great fun and very talented. They could sing and play just about anything. The barbecues held twice weekly or so were amazing and the food fantastic. Such a lot of work went into the preparation and the choice of food unbelievable. The hotel suited us so well as despite being a 4 * hotel it was beautifully informal and relaxed. The manager must be doing everything right to create such a nice atmosphere. Now we are back in the cold ,wet uk , we really missThe Pandanus Resort and hope that one day we will return.

Room Tip: As far as I noticed all the rooms seem to have good views and location. We were in 214 with a balcon...

This resort truly is a paradise on earth. Everybody was so friendly and helpfull on everything! We just came home to finland on 6.2.2012 and we stayde there 14 days and didnt wont to leave! Hard working, honest and kind people everywhere. The breakfast was perfect with lots of choices, rooms were clean etc. In pool area there vere live philipines band playing nearly everynight! The best part was that it wasnt too close to mui ne center so it was silent location. Very easygoing place. If you think to travel to Vietnam, i sincerely can recommend this resort!!

Recently come back from a 10 night stay at the pandanus. we stayed in a bungalow with a sea view which was excellent the grounds were well maintained and very pretty. Found the breakfast buffet excellent with good choice and plenty to choose from and excellent service. my wife and I had food in the restaurant on two occasions and again was excellent and for hotel prices. We had lunch most days in the cafe overlooking the sea what a view to have lunch, food freshly cooked service could be a little slow if busy but you are on holiday what's the rush. Nightly entertainment provided by stardust who were enthusiastic and happy to do requests. Did not have no problem booking buses into main resort and taxis are reasonably cheap anyway. Would recommend to do walking trip into nearby Mui Ne fishing village which is good insight into daily life. We used the spa on a couple of occasions service was excellent and reasonable priced compared to other hotel spas we have used. Wifi is hit or miss always got a signal by pool and lobby so use these areas rather than room.Pool area was excellent always plenty of loungers available and good service from pool staff Staff were excellent and would recommend a stay at the pandanus

We were very impressed with Pandanus Resort. It's absolutely stunning, our room was very clean, buffet breakfasts were good with lots of choices. Location is a little further from the markets and shops but a cab ride isn't so expensive there. Local people are honest, nice and simple.
I recommend this to people who wants to get away from the busy lifestyle or a romantic vacation.

We had very relaxed holidays in Pandanus Resort. The breakfast buffett is wonderful. Such a lot of diffent food we found in no other hotel, and its changing daily. The menu for evening is also very rich and described in german, russian and english. At the most days a live band is playing on the sun terrace in the evening and the Cham musicians entertains you in the lobby and the restaurant .
The hotel has a wonderful, big garden and fine pool. The depth in the pool is from 0,7 m to 1,5 m, so you can really swim in it. Swimming in the sea is mostly in the early morning possible, when the sea is and the wind is calm. The small hotelstrand is clean and there is a baywatch. In Vietnam the strands belongs all people so you can see there some shellfishers. We enjoyed the cooking class, and also the spa in Pandanus. It was very well. If you want to leave the hotel to Mui Ne, you can take the hotel shuttle bus(3 times a day) or the bus or a taxi, which you can found in front of the hotel.
The personnel is always very friendly. If you have a request, they will help immediatly. Especially Ms. Ross has ever an ear to their guests.
We had booked a bungalow. It was stylishly furnished and homely.

Generally a nice place to stay. Room was good. Beach area was pleasant to look at but by midday it was so windy that sand was blowing in our faces. Food in restaurant in the evening was actually pretty good. Breakfast was rubbish - except for the egg station. The rest was very poor - there was a display of lettuce, onions, er some other stuff - all taking up space to fill the table. One other thing worth mentioning was the very whiteness of the sausages. Odd. Entertainment was provided by the cheestastic Stardust, and in the main restaurant three rather grumpy Vietnamese going through the motions. Quite charming, in a way. We called them Sawdust. By the way this place is around 8 miles from the main Mui Ne drag. They provide a bus but it was for about 11 people. Book it up on arrival.

Two main complaints:
1. Garden view was looking out onto the perimeter fence of the hotel. There was some grass and few trees but not really a 'garden'.
2. Needed to do some work while on hols. Booked room with wi-fi. Guess what (see other reviews)? No wi-fi. So the excuse was it gets windy and that does something or other to the signal or blows down something(?) Well, what a surprise. Don't worry we will move you was the offer from the Customer Services lady. Never happened.

On balance, I would not recommend. Shabby service and no excuses are valid.

If you cannot stay somewhere nice on the main drag I would not bother staying here.

SteveMuiNe_Vietnam, Manager at Pandanus Resort, responded to this review, 5 February 2012
Thank you for your review, Archie. I'm sorry that your experience was not as good as you would have liked. I would like to respond to some of your comments and clarify a couple of points.

Your complaint about our breakfast buffet is paradoxical to the comments offered by almost every other guest in the hotel. We do not create a salad bar to take up room, but rather to provide a wide variety of dishes to please all of our guests from different cultures and tastes, as we cater to a very international clientele. Some guests like to have salad at breakfast, so the salad bar is one item we offer. Additionally, we have twelve hot items in chafing dishes, eight types of bread and rolls, six varieties of sliced meats and cheeses, four types of cold cereals, four types of fresh fruit, a Vietnamese soup station and the egg cooking station you mentioned. The reason that the sausages were white is that they are chicken sausages. On other days, we will offer beef or pork sausages. Chicken sausages are always white.

Your comments about our bands are also contrary to those we receive from virtually every other guest. The reason that Stardust has been here for five years is that they are a great band that has an extremely large repertoire and can sing in various languages. The comments about them from virtually every other customer are glowing. Their ability is unmatched by any other band in the Phan Thiet area. The other band that performs nightly in the resort is not Vietnamese, but rather, Cham. Their music is traditional to their culture, which dominated this area for 1,500 years before the Vietnamese arrived.

As I have mentioned previously, we are in Mui Ne and located just over one kilometer from the center of town. Mui Ne is a cape (Mui means cape in Vietnamese) and a town of 22,000 people. Just past Mui Ne, headed towards the city center of Phan Thiet, is the tourist strip of Ham Tien, which you are confusing with Mui Ne. Ham Tien is ten kilometers long and all along the ten kilometers are small resorts, restaurants and guest houses. If one wishes to go to Ham Tien, one may either take our free shuttle, or the public bus which stops in front of the resort every few minutes between 06:00 and 22:00. (The cost for the public bus is about 50 cents). However, there are many good Vietnamese restaurants within walking distance of the resort for people who wish to dine outside.

Our resort is made up of ten hectars of gardens, with six different room types facing in various directions. Most have very nice garden views. I apologize if your view was not as pleasant as you would have liked.

You are correct that there is no excuse for shabby service and I will check to see why you were not moved to another room. If you were here during tet week, then we were sold out every day, so there would have been no other rooms available to move you into. Also, unfortunately, our in-house IT manager was off during tet, so if there was a problem with the wifi, we had nobody on staff to fix it.

We stayed here for 6 nights in a family suite. The suite is quite roomy and has the ocean view. The resort was beautiful and was beyond our expectation. In the first 4 days, the resort was very quite. There were few people on the beach in the morning, and we never saw those many sea stars and it was quite of our every morning fun. But then the last two days were Vietnam public holidays, and suddenly you feel a lot of guests coming in.
The staff are very nice. They always smile and provide very good service. We left our iPad in the room when packing our luggage. They found it and now are sending it to us.
Our kids just love the place and now we can't wait to return next year, but we will try to avoid the public holidays as it would make a big difference when it gets too crowded.
