“Lovely place and lovely people”
Reviewed April 12, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We stayed with a family including teenager down to 5 years old. House really well appointed and idyllic location overlooking sandy cove. Ideal for pottering about on beach and also for day trips to St Ives and Newquay. House owners liveon attached property and were extremely helpful and welcoming. Portreath lacks a really good gastro pub but plenty in near by villages.
Highly recommended

We spent an enjoyable week here despite the poor weather. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They were always on hand.

“Perfect beach location”
Reviewed December 2, 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We have just spent a wonderful family weekend at Gulls Cry. The car access may be narrow and steep but well worth it for the fabulous views and very easy walking access straight on to the beach or coastal path. Even staying until the 1 st December, we were very lucky with the sunny warm weather but the house was lovely and warm with the heating on. The owner gave us a welcoming reception and was very helpful with our needs. Portreath offers good pubs with good food and great pasties at the bakery, and a decent chinese take away so we didn't make use of the well equipped kitchen. Highly recommend it.

Liked best: The location and the price
Liked least: The sofa bed ok for weekend use but would prefer a more sturdy mattress for a longer holiday.also worth noting O2 and vodaphone no reception, ok if you are with three mobile.

“Bright, comfortable and extremely convenient for the beach”
Reviewed August 21, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We really enjoyed our family holiday (age range 5-70 years) in Gull's Cry. The beach is fantastically close, the coastal path was at its most beautiful with both heather and gorse in full bloom, and even on rainy days the apartment was bright and warm.

Access by car is via a very narrow and steep tarmac road. The owners are very friendly and helpful and generally bring a nice cheer to the place. They even arranged for us to be able to view the atelier of the local artist who painted the amazing seascape displayed in Gull's Cry Cottage.

There were 13 of us on this holiday with ages of 1 to 50 and it was fabulous , we had both properties and made the most wonderful memories here . The owners were most helpful . The properties were decorated lovely , fully equipped and spacious , we sat outside for breakfast and watched the sunrise , had fun on the beach and had the odd day out , we also sat out in the evenings having a barbecue and having lots of family fun . HIGHLY RECOMMEND

“Lovely holiday”
Reviewed November 25, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Stayed here with family as we were at a wedding in the area. It's a beautiful
location, right on the beach. We went for a walk along the cliff top behind the house
in the morning, the views are fantastic and great for the kids who loved playing on
the beach. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There are local shops and pub
just a short walk along the beach. We even bumped into Mark Kermode in a local cafe
haha! Would recommend & hope to visit again for a longer stay.
